An Excel-LENT Idea! - Part 2

Ok - here's part 2 of an idea for Lent that is great for Small Groups, and especially Small Group Leaders.... (and at this point I must thank my own Small Group for the ideas shared here...)
So, everyone reads a chapter of 'Fasting & Feasting' each day throughout Lent (or if you're like me, read three in a day to catch up on the ones you miss! Whoops! Well, it doesn't matter, as long as you catch up!)

Then, here's the good bit..... at your Small Group meeting everyone brings something related to whatever inspired them as they read that week. It might be a newspaper cutting, some food to share, a picture from a magazine, a few verses from the Bible, a poem or piece of writing, or something you made. What's important is that it can be anything related to the topic - anything that God put on your heart. It naturally leads to great conversation on the topics you all read that week (and is also a means by which everyone is encouraged to keep up with reading it).

That's it. Everyone contributes something, no matter how small. Discuss, pray, worship, and have fun with what you all brought. Don't get all uptight about time - just be natural. But do make sure that everyone knows in advance that they have to 'bring something to the table'. You can repeat this a couple of times when you meet together as a Small Group over the next few weeks.
And you thought 'bring and share' was just about cold quiche.... but this is about being a family, sharing Christ, sharing gifts, talents and personalities, and of course, food. (ref. p106 'Fasting & Feasting')
Continuing in parts 3 & 4: more ideas for other Small Group nights during Lent, including a Lent Cluster night, whilst you continue to read the book each day.
