Sudan

Since 2005, a tenuous peace agreement has halted the civil war between north and southern Sudan. In 2011 a referendum will be held to decide whether the country separates. This April , national elections are to be held.
The church stands prophetically for peace and reconciliation, contributing to reconstruction efforts;clinics and schools( the malnutrition rate is 16%,food, clean water, medical care and stability are essential needs ).
Please pray that the April elections are fair, democratic and peaceful.
Please pray that the international community re-engages in support of the Peace Agreement, pressurising the northern government not to destabilise the south to stop them voting for independence.
Please pray that the work of NGOs can procede across the south. Pray for the Kajo Keji cathedral build, supported in part by Holy Trinity, to be completed as further funding is sourced. Pray for Bishop Anthony and the church as a focus of community life and hope for the future.
