Hi Forum,
I just thought you may be interested to know if you missed this
morning's broadcast there is a repeat this Saturday (that is well worth
listening to) of Jeffery Sachs (a very influential economist) who is
delivering this year's Reith Lectures, Bursting at the Seams, in which
he talks about extreme poverty, disease, bad governance and terrorism.
I heard the first broadcast this morning and the Q&A session on the
radio in the garden this morning (the marvels of old technology). It is
clear he is passionate for change and hugely optimistic in positive
directions. He sounds really clued up too - I guess that is how he gets
to influence governments. I thoroughly encourage you to catch the
repeat (and the rest of the series).
The first broadcast is Wednesday morning (repeats Saturday evening) and
links to BBC information (and transcripts and MP3 recordings) can be
found on my blog entry below:

My links will stay up as long as there are BBC pages to point to, but
the BBC only keep the MP3 sound recording files available to download
for the first week after initial broadcast.
Regards,
Joc
