Hi All,
Whilst the sun is out and everyone is enjoying being outdoors I thought I would introduce a few things we can all get involved in over the next couple of months.
1)Parklife, Vale Park, Saturday 1st September
An event run by AVDC and features a variety of events for different sections of the community for which the Aylesbury Churches Network have been invited to run a large (& free) family zone on Saturday from 11am - 4pm . This event will rely on volunteers to undertake a number of tasks including welcoming, stewarding, catering, activity leaders, crowd host etc. to make it a relaxing family event (and hopefully inspiring) for all sections of the community.
We already have a number of volunteers , who we will contact shortly to make arrangements, but if you are free on Saturday 1st September and would like to help please sign up at the back of church
2) CHAT funday in Kingsbury, Saturday August 18 2007
We have been contacted by Councillor Raj Kahn who is in need of some volunteers to help out with a Funday being run in aid of Children, Health and Therapy, based at the Sue Nicholls Centre in Aylesbury. Unfortunately he has been let down and is struggling to find enough volunteers to help put up stalls and man them, distribute leaflets and generally be on hand to help out with whatever arises. If you are able to help between 8am and 2pm ( or part of) then please let me know, either on Sunday or by e-mail.
3) Bulb Planting
The Town Council are planting bulbs around the town throughout September and would like some volunteers to help out. The aim is to plant swathes of daffodils and narcissi on 6 sites :
Tring Road (at Bedgrove Roundabouts)
Bierton Road (at junction with Coppice way)
Buckingham Road (at junction with the ring road)
Oxford Road (at roundabout leading to Walton Court)
Mandeville Road (opposite Hospital entrance)
Wendover Road (near Eastcote Road).
If one of these sites is near where you live and you would like to get involved with other members of the community in brightening up these areas of the town then again please let me know and we can give you further details.
We look forward to hearing from you.
God Bless
Richard & Sarah Greenwood
