Hi Folks
I am sure this will be the first of many as we start to gear up for the Scripture Union Holiday club which is happening 18th-24th of August. This year we are very excited about the fact that we will be running two sites simultaneously at Church of the Good Shepherd and at Turnfurlong Infant School for all primary school aged children.

Firstly, thank you to all of you who have helped over the years and for your continuing prayer support.

Please could all of you consider the following as ways in which you might be able to support this important work which we pray will spread the good news of Jesus to at least 150 children in Aylesbury

* Collect crunch corner yoghourt pots and blank CD cases
* Help with some cutting out and craft preparation (resources will be available just before the Summer holidays - July 20th)
* Be a 'Site Mummy' for the day at Church of the Good Shepherd - making squash and cutting up fruit for the children's mid morning snack and supplying the team with coffee, serving lunch and doing a bit of washing up!
* Making an oven dish worth of food for the team evening meal. Veronica Bisley is co-ordinating this and will warmly welcome any offers for lasagne, shepherds pie, casserole, etc
* Make a loaf worth of sandwiches (again please let Veronica know if you can do this)
* Help Holy Trinity host the Turnfurlong Site. It is going to be run on a workshop basis (similar to Passion for Life) with a refreshment break in the middle of the morning and afternoon sessions. We need folk to welcome the children and their parents, help Tim Shewbridge register the children for the workshops, provide tea and coffee, squash etc. HT will be hosting two days and we are hoping that Holy Spirit and Broughton will host the others
* Run a workshop. These will be an hour long (although you can do more than one or cover two sessions), and we are looking for all sorts of different activities. So if you have a passion or a skill (sewing, salt dough, rugby, football, juggling, dance, drama, card making, basket weaving, music, macrame, origami, etc, etc) then please consider doing a session. Don't worry if you are not confident with children we can always make sure that there is extra team available to help you in this area. We just need your skill and passion! Please let Tim Shewbridge or Andrew Blyth know if you are able to help
* Become a small group leader at the Church of the Good Shepherd site, working with a group of 5-10 infants or juniors
* Contribute financially. Running a large event like this costs in the region of £1000 and at present we only have about £750!
* Pray, pray, pray. God has always been gracious and provided us with all that we need but at the moment we feel a bit like we are struggling! Please pray for Ruth Jarrett, Dave and Kate Lawton as they prepare to take charge of the CGS site and Andrew Blyth and Tim Shewbridge as they prepare for Turnfurlong, and for me as I try to keep tabs on it all! Please pray for more team members, we have recently had some disappoints and now have a few gaps! Please pray for the children as they prepare to come that their hearts and minds will be open to hear from God.

Thank you
Carolyn
