Hi,

I am making a small change to how the mailing lists work. I describe the
change and the reason below. A side effect of the change is if a friend
(who is not subscribed to a mailing list) sends a message to it, the
message will be ignored and they won't be told why.

So if any of your home group members experience this problem make sure
they have first subscribed to the mailing list(s), then send them on to
me. There is a good set of links for subscribing to the mailing lists
at the following web page:-

http://htaylesbury.org/what%27s%20new.htm

That's it you can stop reading now, unless you want to know the change I
made and the reason for it which both follow.

I returned from holiday this year to find email inbox absolutely chock a
block, a significant proportion of which was 'moderation' requests from
the mailing lists mostly on account of dodgy purveyors of software and
pharmaceuticals (who obviously believe the good members of the DCC are
much in need of said items).

As a result I have turned off the moderation. Members of the lists will
(I hope) continue to send and receive as normal, but non-members will
neither send nor receive. An electronic dustbin will collect the rubbish
and once a month a couple of mouse clicks will delete all unread.

Regards,

Joc
