Subject: ACN Festival Saturday 1st September -Thank-you!!!

Hi Everyone,

Phew, it's over now and it is estimated that between 2000 and 2500 people attended the Festival. Everything went relatively smoothly and the atmosphere before, during and after the event was great! All in all a successful day!

There has been a lot of feedback, lots of comments about it being free and how everyone was so welcoming and I have heard many people talking about the conversations that were generated. I'm sure that there are many people out there who see church and Christians in a more positive light and lots of people who may not have realised it but have had a small glimpse of the love of God reflected through the service that we provided. I expect you all have your own experiences and I would encourage you to share them.

The other great thing on the day was to meet other Christians from around Aylesbury. Isn't it great to meet new people and know that you already have so much in common, shared values and a shared purpose. I am looking forward to the next event to see some of my new friends again and make some more!

The Festival would not have been possible without everyone doing their bit! There was around 100 people there on the day, this was far less than we had wanted and it meant that everyone had to do that little bit more, many people manned their post for the duration of the Festival without a break but I didn't hear any complaints. -Following the success this year I'm sure that we'll gather more volunteers next time and things will be that little bit easier. Without the people on the day, their willingness to go the extra mile, their flexibility and good humour it just wouldn't have worked! So THANK-YOU!!!

What was less obvious on the day, but no less essential were the 100's of people who had helped in the preparations, organising stalls, baking cakes, planning, shopping, etc. In addition there were 100's of people praying for the Festival, both before and during and I am certain that this made a huge impact to the atmosphere of the whole event, I was told by some that the Vale Park was like an oasis of peace that flowed out into the Town Centre -and you certainly wouldn't say that normally. So a big THANK-YOU to all of these people too!

I guess that I should also mention Daniel Evenhuis from Fusion Youth and Community, he and his colleagues provided the expertise to get the whole Festival off the ground and he was ably assisted by Dave Rollins (Director of AVYFC), Keith Loxley (RB of ACBC) and Julie Dingley (Queen of the Catering tent). They are all busy people who demonstrate their faith and love through service and I thank them for what they do and the example that they give!

The final thank-you of my email goes to the person who made it possible. Without the love of our heavenly Father there would have been nothing to celebrate at the Festival! I believe that he touched many people during the course of the day and pray that he will continue to enable us to nurture seeds that were sown during the Festival.

God has blessed us!!

Mark

PS I know that many may not see this email, so please pass on the thanks to everyone who participated in the Festival.
